Travel south along the Nairobi–Narok highway, descending through the dramatic floor of the Great Rift Valley en route to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve (approximately 5–6 hours drive). Arrive at the reserve by mid-afternoon. Check in to your budget tented camp and enjoy a light lunch. Proceed for your first afternoon game drive from 15:30–18:30 across the open savannah, looking out for lions, cheetahs, zebra, wildebeest, and giraffes.
